SUBJECT: Approve Agreement with Central Valley Children's Services Network for an Evidence-Based Parenting Program

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize Chairman to execute an Agreement with Central Valley Children's Services Network to provide an evidence-based parenting program effective October 1, 2018, not to exceed five consecutive years, which includes a three-year base contract and two optional one-year extensions, not to exceed $500,000.
REPORT
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions, as all costs for this agreement are fully offset with Public Safety Realignment Act (AB 109) revenue. Approval of the recommended actions will provide an evidence-based parenting program to probationers who have children or who are expecting children. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If the recommended actions are not approved, the evidence-based parenting classes provided in the recommended agreement will not be provided.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Funding for this agreement is fully offset with AB 109 revenue. The maximum annual compensation for this agreement is $100,000 with a maximum compensation for the full 5 year term totaling $500,000. Appropriations and estimated revenues are included in Probation's FY 2018-19 Adopted Org 3430 Budget. Funding for subsequent years of this agreement will be included in Probation's requested budget for each respective fiscal year.

DISCUSSION:

The Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) Executive Committee approved funding for an evidence-based parenting program on July 27, 2017, and approved the scope of work for the program on September 15, 2017.
