SUBJECT: Resolution to accept monetary donations from Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net on behalf of CalViva Health and Valley Children's Hospital

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Adopt Resolution accepting and expressing gratitude for monetary donations of $750 per agency, totaling $2,250, to purchase food and beverages for suicide risks training conferences for primary care physicians, from Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net on behalf of CalViva Health and Valley Children's Hospital.
REPORT
The recommended action is required to satisfy the reporting requirements under Management Directive Chapter 762.11, for donations less than $7,500 in value, and Chapter 762.12, for donations to be presented at the Board meeting, which will allow the Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) to accept the total donations in the amount of $2,250 from Anthem Blue Cross (Anthem), Health Net on behalf of CalViva Health (CalViva) and Valley Children's Hospital (Children's Hospital). The donations will be used to purchase food and beverages for the suicide risks training conferences, with the intention to increase attendance.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Your Board may choose to not accept the donation, which will result in DBH not being able to provide food and beverages at the trainings, which may result in lower attendance by primary care physicians to learn tools to increase their ability to recognize, treat and refer patients at risk for suicide to appropriate services.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are available in the Behavioral Health Org 5630 FY 2018-19 Adopted Budget.
