SUBJECT: Agreement with the Sierra Unified School District (CDBG 18011)

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Agreement with the Sierra Unified School District for the Sierra Oaks Senior and Community Center Solar, Roofing and Americans with Disabilities Act Improvements, Community Development Block Grant Project No. 18011, effective upon execution through January 15, 2021 ($158,220).
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will provide Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for the Sierra Oaks Senior and Community Center Solar, Roofing and Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Improvements (Project), included in the County's 2018-19 Action Plan approved by your Board on June 5, 2018. The Project cost is estimated at $158,220, and consists of the installation of new roofing on the Center, solar panels on the roof, and an ADA-compliant front door. If necessary, to complete the Project by January 15, 2021, the Sierra Unified School District (District) will provide a local financial contribution in excess of the CDBG funds. This item pertains to a location in District 5.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Your Board may reject the Project, and direct Department staff to identify a project from the 2019-20 Back-Up list for consideration. However, deletion may impact the County's ability to meet its CDBG expenditure timelines set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The total estimated Project cost is $158,220, which includes construction; design and construction engineering; and, contingency and permits.
