SUBJECT: Temporary Entry Permit with California Department of Water Resources
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Director of Internal Services/Chief Information Officer to execute a Temporary Entry Permit (APN 045-061-05ST) with the California Department of Water Resources, effective upon receipt of the fully executed permit, not to exceed three consecutive years, which includes an initial term expiring December 31, 2022, and automatic one-year extensions.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) access to a portion of county-owned property located at W Elkhorn Ave and S San Mateo Ave (APN 045-061-05ST), to inspect and maintain an irrigation line that crosses the California Aqueduct as part of the California Aqueduct Subsidence Program's, Embankment and Liner Raise Projects, see Attachment A. The item pertains to a location in District 1.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board could choose not to approve the Temporary Entry Permit; however, DWR would not be able to work on items in the County's right-of-way as part of the California Aqueduct Subsidence Program.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action.
DISCUSSION:
DWR is requesting temporary access to county-owned property, identified as APN 045-061-05ST, for the purpose of maintenance and inspection of an irrigation line that runs through the California Aqueduct as part of the California Aqueduct Subsidence Program's, Embankment and Liner Raise Projects. A portion of the property is used for the Wastewater Treatment Facility for County Service Area 32 - Cantua Creek. Adjacent to the property, approximately 20 acres are being leased for agricultural use.
